Podcast Episode #15 Tired of Surface Fixes? How to Create Real Soul Care
===
[00:00:00] Hello, and welcome back to yet another inspirational podcast episode brought to you by yours truly, Carina from Healergy. I'm your truth speaker, truth seeker, truth keeper, and I am so glad that you're here with me today
Hey, it's Carina, and welcome back to Soul Medicine. Here's the lie we've all been sold, that self-care is skin deep. Nails, lashes, gym memberships, all the polished surface stuff. We'll spend hundreds on the [00:01:00] outside, but when it comes to tending to our soul, that's where we flinch, hesitate, or tell ourselves it's too much.
In this episode, I'm calling that out because true self-care isn't about glossing over the cracks. It's about meeting what hurts. By the end, you'll know why the mask never holds, what soul care actually feels like, and the truth bomb I wish someone had dropped on me years ago Let's be honest, you can spend $300 on your hair and feel good for a weekend.
The color fades, the lashes fall, the mask comes off, and underneath you still feel the same. That's not care. That's coping. It's like painting a smile on a cracked mask. [00:02:00] It holds for a moment, but the fracture lines always show through When I worked in the corporate world of education, my makeup was war paint.
Whenever things were messy, restructures, politics, snakes in the office, I'd paint on my shield, perfect eyeliner, lipstick sharp enough to cut glass. And here's the truth bomb I wish someone had told me then. No amount of mascara will cover the cracks in your soul. You don't need better lipstick. You need to be witnessed, and you need to heal.
Because armor doesn't just protect, it weighs you down. Armor is heavy, and the weight followed me home. I snapped at my kids. I shut down with my husband. [00:03:00] I'd carry the war paint energy into my family. This is the principle of cause and effect, one of the seven hermetic principles. Every action has a reaction, or overreaction, as my husband would say.
And before recording this episode, I asked Spirit what they most wanted me to tell you today, a channeled message specifically for the collective, for the women out there longing to see the first glimmer of hope they've had in years. And this is what came through in the cards. The Ace of Swords reversed shows us that people think they're cutting to clarity when they spend on surface fixes, but it's false clarity, a sword that doesn't cut clean.
It's clouded thinking. It's [00:04:00] distraction The Four of Wands reveals what women are truly craving isn't new lashes at all. It's belonging. It's safety. It's homecoming. It's the soul's desire for genuine connection and inner foundation The Seven of Cups shows the confusion and fantasy, drowning in marketed self-care options that don't heal.
The Two of Cups reversed points to the cost. Disconnection from yourself. You keep outsourcing care, but it never creates intimacy with your own soul. And the Seven of Swords, well, that's avoidance. Sneaking away from the real work by distracting yourself with surface rituals [00:05:00] So here's the medicine that spirit wants you to hear.
Soul work isn't just another option on the self-care buffet. It's the only one that actually restores, restores true self-connection. Everything else is a clever escape, an illusion, smoke and mirrors And here's the truth you might not want to hear The only person who can change your life is you. No one else can do it for you, but you don't have to do it alone.
You can do it with help, with support, with soul work that actually meets you where it hurts. And I want to say this gently because I've lived it too. I've numbed pain through self-harm. [00:06:00] That's the raw truth. Same pattern, different mask. Replacing emotional pain with something else because the ache felt unbearable I'll be going much deeper into my own story with self-harm, what I learned from it, how it shaped me, and the medicine inside it in my new paid podcast feed.
That's where I'll talk about the things that are too raw, too taboo, too sacred for the free episodes. So stay tuned for details coming soon to a cinema near you. Not really a cinema, but you get the vibe, right? And I'm not saying don't nurture yourself. If you're going out for a date night, sure, glam up, make an effort.
But let's be real, most of us would rather be in bed by 8:00 the second the kids go [00:07:00] down or curled up on the sofa with Netflix and a blo- a block of chocolate. And let's even be more honest, on the rare nights we do go out, all we end up is talking about the kids anyway, so I may as well just save the money and order a pizza in my pajamas
But here's the reframe. What if instead of spending $300 this month on your hair, you invested it in your healing? Because when my clients do, here's what happens. They feel lighter. They smile again for the first time in years. They rediscover a sense of purpose, like life means something again. The hair dye fades, but the healing holds.
So I want [00:08:00] to ask you, when you look in the mirror after a long day, what do you see? Do you see the mask? Or do you see the woman underneath? The one who's craving to be held, to be heard, to be healed Because she's the one I'm speaking to today. She's the one soul work is for
This is what soul care actually feels like. It's the first deep exhale you've had in months. It's your shoulders finally dropping. It's crying without shame because you're safe to fall apart. It's waking up the next morning and noticing the [00:09:00] heaviness isn't sitting on your chest quite the same way And spirit also gave me a practice for you.
To take a piece of paper and write down the following What masks have I been wearing in the name of self-care?
What's one thing my soul is quietly asking for underneath the noise?
That's your soul care inventory. It's a gentle ferry from avoidance to awareness to your first step into soul care
And here are some more [00:10:00] eye-opening truths for you today Self-care is a bubble bath. Soul work is sobbing in the bath and finally naming the ache you've been hiding. Self-care is painting your nails. Soul work is peeling off the masks you've worn for so long you forgot who you were underneath Self-care is a night off.
Soul work is a lifetime reclaimed And here's the mantra to hold close: Just because it was doesn't mean it will be That's the doorway this work opens. And when you're ready to walk through it, I'll be here, not with another mask, but with medicine. You can book a [00:11:00] Reiki, tarot, or soul insight session through my website.
The details are in the show notes. Or if you're ready for deeper transformation, apply for my three-month Soul Deep Transformation coaching container. And if this episode spoke to you, please share it with someone who's tired of surface fixes, because when we start treating soul work as normal self-care, we don't just heal ourselves, we shift what's possible for everyone around us
So, my friends, here's the last thing I'll leave with you today. Self-care will soothe, but only soul work will set you free
Please don't forget to follow the podcast so you can help it continue [00:12:00] to reach the women who need this medicine the most. And if it spoke to you, share it with someone who's tired of surface fixes, because the more we normalize soul care, the more we shift what's possible for everyone around us. Until next time, stay true, stay tender, and remember, just because it was, doesn't mean it will be.
With love, Carina
